G&L L1000
BASSES The two basses I use for TNM shows are both limited edition G&L's purchased from Guitar Man in NYC. My main player is the passive L-1000. A lot of people in the bass world feel that the L-1000 is Leo Fender's ultimate P bass, and I tend to agree. The sound is rich and thick and it records fabulously.
A G&L L-2000 also goes to all TNM shows. It's the Swiss Army Knife of basses with an amazing amount of tonal options. Other pictured basses are: *Spector Rebop5 (5 string) with EMG-40DC's to replace the stock HZ's. *Home-built P-style bass with a Darkstar pickup. Other basses (not pictured): *Fender American Precision. *Fender Standard Fretless Jazz with US Fender pickups and Super Glue finished fingerboard. *Carvin LB70 (active Jazz-style bass). AMPLIFICATION Avatar cabinets (4x10, 2x10) Eden head (WT550) ACCESSORIES I like to have cables I can trust, but I refuse to get sucked into the boutique cable hype. There's a guy in Louisiana who makes outstanding, custom ordered, cables without the ridiculous "Monster" price tags. The website is www.BayouCables.com and I highly recommend them. Just be patient when ordering as he is a one-man operation. Another item that goes to all my gigs is the Auralex GRAMMA pad. The thing is amazing. It takes the boominess out of a bad room and makes your amp sound consistent from gig-to-gig. |
