Trouble No More Band
Mike Hixon

Mike is a seasoned veteran of the Long Island music scene, dating back to the mid 70’s. He started playing with Kip Carmen and The New Frontier Band in 1974, playing all over the country in the hotel show band circuit, managed by the Norby Walters agency. Shortly after, Mike started his own band, Oasis, an R&B horn band. In the eighties he performed with bands such as Sweetwater, Top Shelf (house band for My Room in Massapequa for 3 years), Hank Lane & Steven Scott Orchestras, and Glass Garden ('88-'89). All these bands helped Mike develop his vocal style by covering various styles of music.

In the early part of the 90’s Mike studied and taught guitar while attending open jams and playing freelance. In '94, Mike put together a hard rock band called Spider (a nickname given to him by his peers). The band covered Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Guns & Roses, and ZZ Top along with some original material. The band stayed together till '98 and played many of the Nassau County sports bars, a very enjoyable venture. In '99-'01 he played with a country band called Southern Grace. This band helped him develop his slide guitar technique, an opportunity not available to him in prior bands. In '05-'06 Mike put together a 4 piece band called Four On The Floor and performed at The Downtown in Farmingdale on the same bill as Leslie West's Mountain. Mike then was given the opportunity to join The High Tydes Band with Peter Cannizzaro, the band’s founder, drummer Carmine Mazzei, and guitarist  Kenny Mades. They were joined shortly after by Fred Nowotarski on keyboard. Later, Jerry Testani later replaced Carmine Mazzei.

In the summer of 2009 Hixon, Mades, Nowotarski, and Testani left The High Tydes band to form TheTrouble No More Band. They later acquired Tom Appel on bass to complete the lineup. Later, after the departure of Fred Nowotarski, Jim Sotis took over on Keys and backing vocals. In 2011, Chris Arrigo took over duties on Bass making him the newest member.
